PUBLIC MEETING ON OFF-STREET PARKING PROPOSED CHANGES

SABRINA GAMROT sgamrot@mississauga.net

The City of Mississauga is holding a public meeting to gather input on its update to off-street parking regulations.

According to the city, changes made to the parking bylaw will "support local business, help deliver affordable housing, respond to climate change and enhance travel, transit and walkability in our neighbourhoods."

Changes will impact only vehicle or bicycle parking required on public and private properties due to new development, redevelopment, building expansion or land use change, not existing buildings or homes, according to the city.

A meeting is being held at the planning and development committee to consider these proposed changes, which have been included in the city's parking regulations study.

"These directions have been revised based on input received from extensive public and stakeholder engagement. Staff will also report on the feedback received and will present preliminary draft zoning

bylaw amendments," read a release announcing the meeting.

The meeting will occur on Monday, Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the council chamber at the Mississauga Civic Centre. Those who wish to participate in the meeting or provide comment are asked to email the city no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2.

The meeting will be live streamed while a limited number of in-person seats are available to the public through advanced registration.
