LAKERIDGE HEALTH UPDATES FAMILY PRESENCE RULES
REKA SZEKELY rszekely@ durhamregion.com
Lakeridge Health has updated family presence guidelines for people supporting patients at Lakeridge.
Medical-grade masks are still a requirement in all areas where patient care is provided. Masking in other areas is optional. Anyone who refuses to wear masks will not be allowed to enter patient-care areas.
People entering the hospital must self-screen for COVID-19. A screening tool is available online at ontario.ca/self-assessment.
Anyone who answers 'yes' to any of the questions on the self-screening tool should not enter the hospital and should go home and isolate.
There is no restriction on how long visitors may spend time with patients outside of quiet hours. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
During quiet hours, one
essential partner-in-care (EPC) may stay with a patient overnight to help with patient needs, provided that the person can wear a mask overnight and respect quiet hours.
One EPC or visitor can accompany patients in the emergency department and ambulatory clinics.
EPCS and visitors cannot eat or drink in patient areas, waiting for areas and hallways. They should use designated eating spaces.
More information is available online at lakeridgehealth.on.ca under the Patients and Visitors tab (Visiting Us).
