SOUTHLAKE WANTS HELP IN SEARCH FOR NEW PRESIDENT, CEO

NEWMARKET HOSPITAL SERVING 1 OF THE FASTEST-GROWING COMMUNITIES IN ONTARIO

MARILEE HARRIS

The nature of health care is changing in Ontario. Needs have never been greater, while resources are scarce.

Serving some of the fastest-growing communities in Ontario, in the past 20 years, Southlake has stretched to provide care to nearly 100,000 more people annually and we're expected to be in the Top 5 busiest hospitals for seniors care in the next 20 years.

We must be equipped with top talent to lean into the challenges that hospitals across the province are facing.

Earlier this month, Southlake kicked off recruitment for its next president and CEO to assume responsibilities following Arden Krystal's retirement in early 2024. Appointing a CEO is one of the most important responsibilities of a board of directors, and we are committed to a comprehensive and thoughtful recruitment process.

But we can't do it alone. We need your help.

Delivering a wide-range of community hospital services to northern York Region and south Simcoe County isn't easy. It takes leadership to guide nearly 6,000 staff, nurses, medical staff, volunteers, and patient and family advisors to create an environment where the best experiences happen.

A commitment to excellence to maintain high-performing regional cardiac and cancer care programs. And vision to deploy a $550million operating budget that protects our reputation as one of the "Top 10 Hospitals in Ontario," accordingly to Newsweek magazine.

As we transform Southlake into a leading two-site hospital system, the next CEO will redevelop our existing site on Davis Drive and build a new state-of-theart facility to serve our communities for the next 100 years.

We want to hear from you. Share your thoughts on the future of health care and how the next CEO should support our communities' needs by visiting www.southlake.ca/CEOsearch to help inform our search.
