CANDIDATE PROFILE: MONIQUE TAYLOR, NDP

CANDIDATE NAME: Monique Taylor

RIDING: Hamilton Mountain

PARTY: Ontario New Democratic Party

AGE: 49

OCCUPATION: MPP

RESIDENCE: Hamilton Mountain

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Worked as administrative assistant to then Hamilton city councillor Scott Duvall. Since 2011 served as elected MPP for Hamilton Mountain.

HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S RESPONSE TO COVID? F.

Doug Ford dragged his feet when people in our community needed him the most. We had an awful outbreak at Grace Villa because homes were not prepared. Ford refused to provide sick days for workers and people had to scramble to find vaccine appointments here. Ford didn't listen to people and he didn't take action until too late, which led to longer lockdowns. The NDP spent each day fighting for Ontarians because people deserved better.

IF RE-ELECTED I PLEDGE TO: keep fighting for Hamilton Mountain, as I have for 11 years as MPP. An NDP government would invest in fixing things like our schools and hospitals. We will invest in support for children with autism and those dealing with mental health issues. We will find affordable housing opportunities.
