HALDIMAND AND GLANBROOK SERVICE AGENCIES: GLANBROOK FOOD BANK
When difficult situations arise, it's hard to know where to turn to for help. In this series, Haldimand and Glanbrook's service agencies, The Sachem and Glanbrook Gazette shine a spotlight on the local organizations that are ready to give a hand up.
NAME: Glanbrook Food Bank
WHAT THEY DO: The food bank is a mission of Christ Church Woodburn, which started as a millennial project 22 years ago and has been in continuous operation since. It provides non-perishable food items and some hygiene products to 10 to 15 families each month, averaging about 125 visits per year. It also runs the Christmas Hamper Program, which provides families with items for their holiday celebration, including a gift for each family member.
WHO DO THEY SERVE?: Glanbrook residents, which includes the postal codes L0R 1C0, L0R 1W0 and L0R 1P0.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED: The food bank is totally funded through the generosity of the community, through service groups, businesses, church groups and individuals. The food bank is located at 1307 Woodburn Rd. and is open from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday
