7 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CANADA DAY FESTIVITIES

ESPLANADE PARK, KINSMEN PARK FILLED WITH ACTIVITIES ON JULY 1

The City of Pickering has it covered for Canada Day celebrations all day and night on Saturday, July 1.

Here's what you need to know about the free festivities:

1. Daytime events are planned from noon to 5 p.m. at Esplanade Park, located at One The Esplanade.

2. Stage shows are taking place throughout the afternoon, and roaming performances are set for the park.

3. A SuperDogs Show is taking place in the park at 2 p.m.

4. The event is for people of all ages, and will include activities for families, teens and adults 55 and up.

5. The celebration continues at the annual Canada Day concert at Kinsmen Park, 705 Sandy Beach Rd. Enjoy live music on the big stage, food trucks, fireworks,

and lots of fun for all ages.

6. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

7. There will be accessible bus shuttles to Kinsmen Park from Pickering GO Station and Ontario Power Generation parking lots (777 Brock Rd. with overflow at 889 Brock Rd.) beginning at 5:30 p.m. and return shuttles resuming shortly after the firework show.
