Interesting that on June 14, Ken Hewitt registered to run for mayor in Haldimand County again and

Tony Dalimonte removed his name for the mayoral race and re-registered to run for councillor in Hagersville on June 15.

This is an annoyance to me — you will seemingly only put your name in a race that you think you are guaranteed to win? Up until now, you thought you would be a great candidate for mayor, but now you perceive competition, so you go back to where you think you have a sure win?

I as well think that Ken, too, is using this as a fall back after his unsuccessful provincial bid. It would be interesting to know if he did not accept his salary while his time and interests were not in his current position as our mayor.

So, if both candidates are only using their current position as a fall back, what chance do we have for real change if we keep the same old?
