OPP INVESTIGATING TRUCK THEFTS IN DUFFERIN

2022 DODGE RAMS TARGETED IN BOTH INCIDENTS

Dufferin police say they are investigating two separate thefts of similar truck models, a continuation of a trend that has plagued the county in recent months.

Shortly after 10 a.m. March 17, police were called to a home on Aspen Crescent in Mono for a report of a vehicle theft. It was determined that a 2022 grey Dodge Ram 1500, crew cab, with a black tonneau was stolen at about 3:45 a.m. that morning from the complainant's driveway.

The investigation is continuing.

Officers were called for another theft later in the day, this one on Faith Drive in Orangeville, where a 2022 black Dodge Ram was stolen from the driveway. It was determined the theft occurred sometime in the overnight hours, March 16-17.

Anyone with information or has video surveillance footage is asked to call police at 519-942-1711 or 1-888-310-1122.

People can also provide information anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-2228477 (TIPS) or submit their information online at https://ontariocrimestoppers.ca/.

These incidents are far from the first in the county. Earlier this year, Dufferin OPP said the area is seeing the same increase in truck thefts experienced across the Greater Toronto Area. Police noted that RAM pickup trucks, years 2020 to 2023, are predominantly targeted.
