100 WOMEN WHO CARE HOST FIRST QUARTERLY MEETING OF 2023

The 100 Women Who Care North Grenville (NG) hosted its first quarterly meeting for 2023 on Thursday, March 2.

We would like to thank Natalie Castellas and the staff of Catered Affairs on the Kemptville Campus for the donation of the space to host our meeting. Additionally, we would like to thank our door prize sponsor, George Schwartzenhauer, for two fabulous prizes. If you would like to donate a door prize for our next meeting, please reach out to us.

We had so many nominations this quarter! Three were chosen at random to tell us about their charities and their need in our community for funds.

We also presented a cheque to our last quarter's winner — the Salvation Army Community & Social Services Kemptville, in the amount of $4,485 — and learned about what they were able to do with these funds. Fresh produce for those in need of food this month!

This brings our total raised in North Grenville to $95,203 since 2017. Thank you to all the ladies who have made this group a success over the past six years — happy International Women's Day.

This meeting's presentations were informative and it was inspiring to learn about what many volunteers in our community do to help others. We heard from St. James Anglican Church, the Kemptville District Hospital Auxiliary and Connect Youth. Connect Youth was pronounced the winner of the funds raised, although both other charities will get $250 each.

100 Women Who Care NG has partnered with the Ottawa Community Foundation

to streamline the donation process. Members can log on to the foundation's central website and enter "100 Women Who

Care North Grenville" as the fund to receive their donation. This system automatically generates a tax receipt, making the whole

operation that much easier. Please do not choose the anonymous option. The deadline for donations this quarter is March 9.

We don't stop at 100 women: in fact, the more the merrier! We are looking to make the biggest local and immediate charitable impact we can. Reminder that 100 per cent of the proceeds go toward the chosen charities that night. Join us for the North Grenville chapter of this amazing charity and help bring positive change to your community.

Our next meeting will be held on June 21 at Catered Affairs from 6 to 8 p.m. This will be a joint meeting with the 100 Men Who Care. Details to follow, but all are welcome. Please join us for a fun-filled evening of community giving. Members are welcome to make their nominations any time.
