It's that time of year again. Easter weekend is fast approaching. And with warmer weather on the horizon, there's an array of Easter egg hunts planned this year.

The Stipley Lions Club and Optimist Club of Stoney Creek are teaming up for a first annual Easter Egg Hunt and Barbecue, Saturday, April 8, 10:30 to 1 p.m. at Stoney Creek Optimist Little League Park, 890 Queenston Rd.

Along with the Easter egg hunt for kids of all ages, families can enjoy photos with the Easter bunny, a barbecue and selfie booth. Donations of non-perishable food items, hygiene products and cash will be accepted for the Crown Point Community Fridge. Proceeds from barbecue sales will benefit the Lions Camp Dorsett.

The event is free to attend, and no preregistration is required.
