BEATTIE, I. Leslie

College at Guelph University. He farmed with his father and his Uncle Ross and his cousin John as a partner of Beattie Brothers Farms. Upon retirement, he pursued his passions with enthusiasm - alpine skiing, cycling, and travelling the world with Mary Jane. He cherished spending time with his family whether it was at a ski resort, cottaging or boating. He also enjoyed reading, writing prose, tackling a difficult crossword, or contributing to his community through his involvement with the church and the agricultural society. He was a kind and humble man who has left an indelible mark upon his family and his community. Friends are invited to join his family for a Service of Remembrance at the Centennial United Church, 234 William Street, Stayner, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 2 o'clock. Reception and fellowship to follow in the CE Wing. If desired, a donation to the Collingwood Agricultural Society or Grace United Church, Thornbury would be appreciated by Les' family.

Died tragically on Monday, May 9, 2022, near Thornbury at the age of 71. Les of Thornbury, formerly of Stayner, beloved husband of Mary Jane (nee Watt) for 48 years. Loving father of Lisa Mead, Michael (Jenny) and Jessica (Ian Rowbotham). Cherished papa of Jordan and Nathan Mead, Kaylan and Sloan Beattie and Ivy and Evan Rowbotham. Dear brother of Eleanor (Bob Watt), David (Jocelyn) and Kim (Roger Burkholder). He is predeceased by his parents Irvine (2001) and Kay (2005).
