A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for an Oshawa man wanted in a recent murder.

Adam Odette, 37, of Oshawa, is wanted for seconddegree murder and attempted murder in a double stabbing on Sunday, March 12.

Durham Regional Police Service were called to a home on Simcoe Street in Oshawa on Sunday, March 12, at about 4 a.m., for reports of an armed person. When police arrived, they found two women suffering from stab wounds, police said.

The women were taken to Toronto-area trauma centres, where one died from her wounds. She's been identified as 26-yearold Katie Kainz.

The other victim remains in stable condition, police noted.

Kainz's brother, Tyler Dasti, said his sister lived with their parents in Seagrave,

just outside Port Perry.

He's started a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses and raise money for a bench to be placed in Palmer Park in Port Perry to honour Kainz's memory.

An Easter fundraiser for Katie will be held on April 1 at Harley G's at 433 Simcoe St. S., in Oshawa. All funds raised will be donated to Kainz's family.

Police are urging Odette to contact a lawyer and turn himself in to police.

Anyone who is found to be assisting Odette to evade police is guilty of an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada and will be prosecuted to the full extent, police said.

Anyone with new information is asked to contact Det. Thorne of the Major Crimes Homicide Unit at 1888-579-1520, ext. 5223.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca.
