'IT'S GETTING CHILI IN NESTLETON': FALL FESTIVAL RETURNS

FUNDRAISER FOR CARTWRIGHT SPORTS AND RECREATION SET FOR OCT. 1

Cartwright Sports and Recreation will celebrate the autumn season with the return of its Fall Festival and Classic Car Show.

Slated for Saturday, Oct. 1, the celebration runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Cartwright Fields in Nestleton.

There will be a barbecue and refreshments, Kids FunZone with a crafts and games area, vendors, horse-and-wagon rides through the forest trails and a classic car show throughout the park that's open to all makes and models. Visitors have an opportunity to vote for their favourite.

The event also features a chili cook-off competition where participants are judged on their entries by the public. The chili competition runs from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., with cash prizes awarded for first ($100), second ($50) and third ($25) place.

The event is a fundraiser for Cartwright Sports and Recreation. Admission is $5, with children under two free.

Cartwright Fields is at 3971 Hwy. 7A in Nestleton.
