SEVERAL FARMS IN DURHAM ARE OFFERING FALL FUN AND FESTIVALS THIS WEEKEND

There are lots of great events happening in Durham this weekend — here are a few to check out.

AJAX CREATIVE ARTS FALL ART SHOW AND SALE

Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 25 Sherwood Rd. W., Ajax

This annual event is back featuring art by local artists, a tea room and free hourly draws. Ajax Creative Arts is a fine arts association with about 100 member artists, visit ajaxcreativearts.ca for more information.

BROOKS FARM FALL FUN FESTIVAL

Weekends in September and October (including Thanksgiving Monday)

122 Ashworth Rd., Mount Albert

Brooks Farms has hosted the Fall Fun Festival for more than a decade. Visitors

can check out the farm market, wagon rides, corn maze, farm animals, a huge play area and pick-yourown pumpkins. Visit brooksfarms.com for information.

OSHAWA COMICON

Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Harmony Creek Community Centre, 15 Harmony

Rd. N., Oshawa

Oshawa ComiCon is hosted by Pop Culture Canada and features vendors selling comic books, toys, games, sports cards and other collectibles. Admission is $5.

NEWCASTLE HARVEST FESTIVAL

Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

King Avenue, Newcastle

Celebrate fall in downtown Newcastle with music by Jacob Henley, free activities for kids, artisan craft vendors and a pancake breakfast. The Newcastle Harvest Festival has been an annual event for more than 30 years and was cancelled the last two years due to COVID-19.
