OSHAWA SHOOTING SUSPECT SURRENDERS TO POLICE

A suspect wanted in a shooting in Oshawa has turned himself in.

Durham police said Antjuan Lewis, 19, surrendered to them on Wednesday, March 15.

Police were called to the area of Nassau Street and King Street West in Oshawa on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at about 9:30 p.m.

Two people were in an altercation when one of them pulled a gun and shot at the other person, police said.

The victim wasn't hit and the suspect fled southbound on Nassau Street, police added.

Officers found a shell casing at the scene.

An arrest warrant was issued for Lewis on Monday, Jan. 23.

Lewis has been charged with offences including discharging a firearm with intent to wound/ endanger life, possession of a weapon for committing an offence, pointing a firearm and assault.

He was held for a bail hearing.
