WE HAVE SOME CONTROL OVER DURHAM'S GROWTH

To the editor: Re: Welcome to 'Wild East' Durham, where rapid growth runs rampant.

Using the words "unrestrained growth" implies that we have no control over growth in the Durham region. Of course we do.

In common with Mr. Mohindra, I too am an Ajax resident of more than 40 years. During those decades, the Ajax/pickering hospital has struggled to meet the needs of our growing community.

Now all our Durham hospitals are in crisis.

It is the moral and fiscal responsibility of all our elected officials to slow Durham's growth.

Call them. Email them. Write to them.

While you have their attention, ask some difficult questions about the lamentable choices they are making on our behalf about our environment. SARAH NEWBERRY
