Orillia's Douglas RexGraham is making plans for the future after winning a $250,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Deluxe.
The 56-year-old father said he was playing his ticket early one morning while having coffee when he discovered his good fortune.
"I thought I won $20, so I scanned it with my phone and saw $250,000," he said. "I didn't believe it, so I closed the app and scanned it again and again, then started counting the words."
Texting his wife a
screen shot of the app, she asked if it was real.
"We freaked out together over the phone," he added with a laugh. "Then shared a big hug when she got home."
Rex-Graham plans to use his winnings to pay
some bills, complete home improvements and invest for the future.
"I plan to celebrate with a trip somewhere sunny with my wife," he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Atherley Road in Orillia.
