ALLEGED PAROLE VIOLATIONS LEAD TO DRUG AND GUN SEIZURE

Halton police have laid several charges after the arrest of an Oakville man who was reportedly unlawfully at large.
On March 9, police visited a residence in the area of Dundas Street West and Sixth Line in Oakville. There, they arrested a man who was reportedly unlawfully at large as a result of an alleged parole violation.
They conducted a search and found and seized the following items:
• A half-kilogram of cocaine;
• Prepackaged cocaine (approximately three ounces);
• Cutting agent; • Multiple scales; • Approximately $40,000 in bundled Canadian currency;
• 12 rounds of hollowpoint ammunition;
• A loaded Glock 19 — 9 mm handgun;
• Two over-capacity extended magazines (30round and 15-round);
• Multiple cellular phones.
The 26-year-old man of Oakville was charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking — schedule 1.
He was held in custody
pending a bail hearing. The charges have not been proven in court.
