'HELP REDUCE OUR IMPACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE'

If you're eager to learn more about electric vehicles, sustainability, and tackling climate change, you can do just that at an upcoming event at the Northumberland Mall.

The EV Society — Northumberland Chapter and Sustainable Cobourg are organizing the free EV and sustainabilityfocused event set for May 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Northumberland Mall in Cobourg, in the parking lot area on the north side (between the main driveway/boston Pizza and LCBO locations.)

"The focus of the event is how electrification of the transportation system and other sustainable activities can help reduce our impact on climate change," explained organizers.

Approximately 10 electric vehicles (EVS) will be on display during the event by both owners and local dealers, said organizers. Those interested in learning more can talk with owners and dealers.

Four vehicles will also be available for test drives through Plug' n Drive.

Several sustainable organizations will also be showcasing displays and/or making presentations, including Sustainable Cobourg, Phorests 4 R Phuture, Blue Dot, the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority, and the Council of Canadians and Lakefront Utilities, to name a few.

Organizers said they have also extended an invitation to representatives with the federal and provincial governments, in addition to election candidates and municipal officials and politicians.
