COBOURG'S CANADA DAY, WATERFRONT FESTIVAL FUN, MORE RETURNS

PARADE, FIREWORKS OVER THE HARBOUR, ENTERTAINMENT, MORE PART OF THE FESTIVITIES

Cobourg's Canada Day celebrations and more are making a comeback this year, the town has announced.

The Town of Cobourg's community services division recently announced it was gearing up for the return of Canada Day celebrations and more. This will be the first in-person Canada Day celebration, with the last two years involving virtual activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It has been a challenging time for our local businesses and community," noted Cobourg Coun. Adam Bureau, who also serves as co-ordinator of arts, culture and tourism. "With the return of great community events like Canada Day and the Waterfront

Festival, I am excited to once again see our local restaurants and businesses full and to provide people with activities that bring them joy."

In addition to Canada Day fun, the town has confirmed the Waterfront Festival, celebrations in Victoria Park, and many more cultural and community events are set to return this year. And all these activities are opportunities to highlight Cobourg's great local art and music, all the while providing a venue for area residents to get outside and reconnect with their neighbours, added the town.

Cobourg Canada Day celebrations will again be paired with the Cobourg Waterfront Festival, hosted by the Rotary Club of Cobourg, and the Cobourg Lions Club.

Local residents and guests can expect to see Victoria Park and Rotary Harbourfront Park again filled with musical entertainment, art shows, great foods and beverages, activities for kids and more.

For area businesses and community groups wanting to participate in this year's parade, the town is accepting parade applications. Groups can submit applications online with a Canada Day parade participation form accessible via the town's website.

Applications for the parade will be accepted until June 24.
