MEET LIBERAL CANDIDATE JEFF KAWZENUK
Jeff Kawzenuk is the Liberal MPP candidate for Northumberland-peterborough South in the 2022 provincial election.
Kawzenuk has tossed his hat into the ring hoping to secure residents' votes on June 2 as the riding chooses its next MPP and Ontario its next premier.
To introduce residents to their local candidates, we asked Kawzenuk and others to answer some quick questions.
HERE'S A QUICK RUNDOWN:
Kawzenuk, 61, of Colborne, is the local Liberal candidate, and a retired secondary school principal.
PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE:
"This is my first time running. I have, however, been involved with numerous charitable and community organizations over the course of my 35-year career as an educator."
HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S COVID-19 RESPONSE AND WHY?
"C-: I think far too much emphasis was placed on ending pandemic restrictions in time for a provincial election rather than putting public safety first."
IF ELECTED, I WILL ..."
"I will work diligently with municipalities across this riding, including First Nations' band councils, to better understand their needs from the provincial government. I will work with them in partnership to see that those needs are fulfilled as timely as possible.
"I also look forward to working with the various not-for-profit community agencies in doing what I can to secure the funding they need to operate to the best of their ability on behalf of our communities."
