FESTIVAL CONTINUES TO JUNE 17

RHIZOMES: JOURNEY INTO ALTERNATIVE SPACES

Each night of the festival, discover sitespecific installations and short performances in and around the James St. neighbourhood. These installations will feature art, music and performances. Guided tours depart regularly: Thursday, June 15, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, June 16, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, June 17, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees should meet at the Rhizomes Hive at Avenue Ballroom, 7 James St. To enter, you must have a festival pass, an event ticket or pay $20 per person at the door.

"SAMCA": HAUNTING THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE DARK UNDERBRUSH

Inspired by dark Romanian folk tales,"Samca" is a haunting performance that deals with themes of infertility, abortion and the fear of the feminine body. Created by Spindle Collective and Riot King, this gripping folk tale will unfold in the mysterious depths of Burgoyne Woods. It will take place on Thursday, June 15, at 9:30 p.m., and Friday, June 16, at 9:30 p.m. To attend, you will need a festival pass, an event ticket, or pay $20 per person at the site pending capacity.

BANDEMONIUM: ROCK OUT WITH THREE UNFORGETTABLE BANDS

Rock out at Bandemonium on Saturday, June 10 at 8 p.m. at Robertson Hall at the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre. Expect an evening filled with high-energy performances by three incredible bands. Catch Lego Money, a young brother duo with the energy of a stadium rock band. Jam along to the infectious sounds of local pub punk band Chub. Finally, prepare to be transported to a jungle fever dream with Banananananana, a synth-punk/shock rock duo from Hamilton. A festival pass will get you in, so will an event ticket, or $20 per person at the door pending capacity.

QUEER, TRANS AND NON-BINARY ARTS SPACES AT IN THE SOIL

Gender and sexually diverse experiences and expression in the arts can never be just one thing. That element of metanoia/ change/revolution will be shared at In the Soil this year! Alongside an amazing set of free family-friendly and interactive events, we are excited to highlight a fantastic lineup of queer, trans and non-binary artists who will performing, and doing workshops and discussions from June 10 to June 17.
