VICTORIA DAY 2022 IN NIAGARA: WHAT'S OPEN AND WHAT'S CLOSED

WONDERING WHAT IS OPEN ON MONDAY? WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED

May 23 is Victoria Day, a statutory holiday, and as such most places are closed.

That's not the case with everything, however. Below is a list of regional services and attractions that are open and closed this Monday.

WHAT'S OPEN

• Niagara Health's emergency departments in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland as well Urgent Care Centres in Port Colborne and Fort Erie

• Tourist destinations such as Clifton Hill, Hornblower Cruises, Niagara Parks facilities

• Recreational facilities (such as splash pads, golf courses), beaches

• Port Colborne's Cedar Bay beach is open, as is Nickel Beach, though a pass is required.

• Fort Erie's Bay Beach is open, but beachgoers will be required to present one of three 2022 Bay Beach passes (resident, commercial or day).

WHAT'S CLOSED

• Most grocery stores

• Municipal offices: City halls, parks, recreation and culture services administration offices.

• Government offices and service centres, such as postal outlets

• Banks

• Shopping centres like the Pen Centre, Fairview Mall, and Seaway Mall

• LCBO and Beer Stores. Transit systems will be operating on holiday schedules in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines. Welland Transit, Niagara Region Transit and Niagara Specialized Transit will not be operating.
