RIN SIMON - COMMUNIST PARTY

RIN SIMON IS INVOLVED WITH TWO ADVISORY COMMITTEES IN THE CITY AND WORKS IN THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT SECTOR

NAME: Rin Simon

RIDING: St. Catharines PARTY: Communist Party of Ontario

AGE: 24

OCCUPATION: Worker with Indigenous communitybased not-for-profit

RESIDENCE: St. Catharines, Ont.

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: I participate on two advisory committees for the City of St. Catharines and have volunteered with

a political campaign in the past. I am very engaged in political discussion and theory, which informs my work in anti-racism activism and supporting Indigenous rights to self-determination and sovereignty.

HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S COVID-19 RESPONSE AND WHY?

FDue to the excess of preventable deaths in longterm-care homes, the attacks on public health and the increase of privatization, it is clear that the Ford government has put profits ahead of people's health and needs. It is clear who the "people" Ford is for and it is not the working people of Ontario.

IF ELECTED, WHAT WOULD YOU PLEDGE TO DO? I will promise to fight for the needs of the working class before capitalist profits and tackle the climate crisis by ensuring the safety of Ontario's green spaces through supporting Indigenous peoples inherent rights to self-determination and sovereignty. Indigenous justice is justice for all.
