NIAGARA FALLS RECEIVES LATEST CASINO PAYOUT FROM OLG
MORE THAN $15M IN PAYMENTS IN OLG'S FISCAL YEAR
The City of Niagara Falls has received more than $4 million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.
"Payments through OLG's Municipality Contribution Agreement provide host gaming communities with the support they need to fund programs and critical infrastructure to improve the lives of residents and families," said Peter Bethlenfalvy, minister of Finance.
The third quarter payment of $4,433,189 is just part of more than $15 million the city has received in OLG's fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
"With these revenues, municipalities are able to build better communities with more opportunities to live and work," added Bethlenfalvy.
The city has benefitted from more than $20 million a year in proceeds from the two casinos since signing a new hosting agreement with the OLG in 2013. Prior to that, the city received $3 million annually for hosting the two gaming facilities.
Since the first casino — Casino Niagara — opened in December 1996, the city has received $190,964,210.
