MEET DEVON ST. DENIS-RICHARD, NOTA CANDIDATE

CANDIDATE NAME: Devon St. Denis-Richard

RIDING: Niagara Falls

PARTY: None of the Above Direct Democracy Party

AGE: 46

OCCUPATION: Software architect

RESIDENCE: St. Catharines

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE:

While this is my first time running for political office, I stay on top of politics, not only locally, but also geopolitically. I long ago abandoned the idea of voting for one party, because "that's my party"

HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S COVID-19 RESPONSE AND WHY: C

The province's response to COVID-19 left room for improvement. The lockdowns were not science based, while the use of a cloth mask (rather than an N95) was a pointless practice (as per the WHO).

The restaurant mask policy only made political sense. Rather than using the pandemic as a political tool, we could have possibly gotten on top of it, in a more meaningful way, with better policy and messaging.

IF ELECTED, I PLEDGE TO: Entice good employers with good jobs, to move to the area.

Create real accountability for government and get money out of politics.

Use direct democracy — we work for the people — and create a real inspection agency for care facilities (frequent and random).
