PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD VIRGIL'S HOCKEY ARENAS

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE FROM JUNE 9-11

The Niagara-on-theLake Pickleball Club will be hosting its first tournament this summer.

Called the "NOTL Classic," the tournament will run from June 9 to 11 in Virgil's twin hockey arenas: the Meridian Credit Union Arena, and the Centennial Arena.

A series of exhibition matches of men's and women's doubles will open the event, and will feature professional Canadian players.

There will also be a social event for players and their guests on the Saturday evening at the NOTL Community Centre.

The tournament is officially sanctioned by Pickleball Canada, supported by Pickleball Ontario and is open free of charge to spectators interested in seeing what the sport is all about.

John Hindle, co-chair of the event, said they expect more than 200 players from across North America will be there.
