UP TO RESIDENTS TO BE PREPARED

TONY HARRISON-EDGE ANDY HENDERSON NIAGARA FALLS

Re. Fort Erie was unprepared, Letter, Jan. 5:

To the letter writer who was clearly on another planet, or at least another continent the week before the "Big One", I say "Welcome Back".

Clearly without access to television, radio, cell phones or polite conversation with neighbours, you didn't get the message...or should I say messages.

Environment Canada alerts and warnings or the National Weather Service for our friends in Buffalo be damned, it seems you are putting all your faith and expectation (and blame) on the Mayor of Fort Erie. Really?

I say kudos and thank you to all the workers from the town and especially Canadian National Power who got us up and running as fast as possible under such extreme circumstances.

The day I look to the Mayor and don't heed all the warnings provided will be the day I turn in my "common sense card" and go be a burden to my daughter and son-in-law from their basement!

Once again, welcome home.

RIDGEWAY

Who is responsible for such an irresponsible decision?

Whoever it is should immediately reverse it.

We need to protect our young children from such a danger.
