Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School (WODSS) in Baden is inviting Wilmot Township residents to their stage play.

It's their first fulllength (approximately two hours) stage play since the pandemic began. "Little Miss Stockholm Syndrome: A Parody of Beauty and the Beast," is a comedy that explores what happens when a seemingly inoffensive fairy tale crosses paths with modern sensibilities and realities.

Two of the school's Grade 12 drama students, Tavia Shonk and Sonia Kagolovskaya, are the coplaywrights and co-directors.

"'Little Miss Stockholm Syndrome' shows how the sharp and socially conscious minds of the next generation may not have the means to solve the ridiculous systemic problems currently plaguing our society, but they are among the best at recognizing and ridiculing them in an equally absurd approach," a press release from the dramatic arts department reads.

Students and staff of WODSS have collaboratively worked on this project for the past six months and are eager to showcase students' talent.

Members of the public are invited to watch this play at Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School, 1206 Snyder's Rd. W., on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., and Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets for students are $10 each and are available on School Day or in-person at designated times. Tickets for the public are available in the WODSS

main office and before each show (cash only).
