CITY FARMERS MARKETS RETURNING FOR THE SUMMER

VISITORS CAN LOOK FOR MANY ITEMS, FROM CHEESE TO FRESH EGGS TO BAKED GOODS

It's a sign that summer is upon us - farmers markets in Mississauga are opening.

ERIN MILLS FARMERS MARKET

Opening Thursday, June 15, visitors can expect local and cultural food in a friendly community space. The market brings farmers, bakers, food producers and food educators to Mississauga on Thursdays from 3-7 p.m.

This market is located at 2520 Eglinton Ave. W. at Erin Mills Parkway, at the base of the Daniels Arc building, on the east side.

Free one-hour underground parking is available.

LIONS FARMERS MARKET

Mississauga Central Lions Club hosts two markets in the city. The Mississauga Celebration Square Market, located in front of Mississauga Civic Centre, opened Wednesday, June 7 and runs Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Robert Speck Parkway location in the parking lot adjacent to Shipp Drive opened Sunday, June 4 and runs Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

LAKEVIEW FARMERS' MARKET

Open as of May 28, this market features local, sustainable, organic, and artisan products, which provide an important source of income for local farmers, growers, producers and artisans. Stop by on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This market is located at 1352 Lakeshore Rd. E. at the Dixie Road parking lot next to the Small Arms Inspection Building.

PORT CREDIT FARMERS MARKET

This market, which opened on June 3, offers fresh produce, cheese, eggs, baked goods, food and beverage, artisans, and live music on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market is in the parking lot at the corner of Lakeshore Road East and Elmwood Avenue (two blocks east of Hurontario Street).

STREETSVILLE SUMMER MARKET

Beginning Saturday, July 8 until Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this market is located in the heart of Streetsville, at Queen St. S and Main St. It features farmers, artisans, crafters, unique food vendors and more.
