PEEL REGION HOLDING GARBAGE EXEMPTION PERIOD IN JUNE

EXTRA GARBAGE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO BE PICKED UP

Residents of Peel Region will have a spring garbage exemption period that will take place from June 12 to 23. During a garbage exemption period:

• Residents can put any amount of acceptable garbage on the curb for pickup.

• Garbage tags are not needed.

• Any extra garbage is to be collected only on garbage collection day, not on recycling collection day.

Residents can find their garbage exemption day by:

• Checking the collection calendar.

• Signing up to receive free weekly collection reminders by email, text or phone call.

In order for garbage to be picked up, an extra garbage bag cannot:

• Weigh more than 20 kilograms (44 pounds).

• Be larger than 66 centimetres (26 inches) wide and 90 centimetres (35 inches) high.

• Be smaller than 30 centimetres (12 inches) wide and 30 centimetres (12 inches) high.
