Have you been waiting for the opening of Carlo's Bake Shop in Mississauga since its opening was announced last spring?

If so, we may have some good news for you.

Carlo's, which will be a 3,200-square-foot facility located at 167 Lakeshore Rd., is a chain owned by reality TV star Buddy "Cake Boss" Valastro.

According to Jennifer Love of Duet Public Relations, the bakery location in Port Credit is set to open soon, specifically before the holiday season, though a grand opening date has yet to be scheduled.

This bakery location will be the first in Canada, though a number of Valastro's cake ATM machines have cropped up across the GTA, including one at Square One Shopping Centre.

As for the postponed opening, Love credits it to construction delays related to COVID-19 backlogs.

Whenever the grand opening does take place, she confirmed the plan is for Valastro to be present as well.

For those who can't wait to get their hands on some products, Carlo's Bakery offers delivery options nationwide.

Whole cakes including chocolate fudge, carrot, red velvet and rainbow start at $49.99 while pre-cut cakes with eight slices start a $69.99.

To celebrate the delivery options in Canada, Valastro and his team have created the "Oh Canada" cake, which features layers of red and white vanilla cake topped with buttercream icing and finished with red and white sprinkles.

The original Carlo's Bake Shop opened in Hoboken, New Jersey after Valastro's father Buddy Sr. bought it in 1963. A reality show chronicling Valastro and the bakery called "Cake Boss" premiered on TLC in 2009.
