The Rotary Club of Innisfil has made a $2,500 donation to the Innisfil YMCA's "Move to Give" campaign.

Move to Give is the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka's annual signature fundraising event. Over the last seven years, thousands of participants have taken on exciting active challenges and raised more than $700,000 in support of the YMCA.

The Rotary Club of Innisfil has been helping the community since 2010 and currently has about 30 members.

"The YMCA is a critical part of our community, connecting families through healthy activity, child care, summer camps, employment services, and so much more," said Rotary Club of Innisfil president Dean Bercier. "We're proud to be a supporter and to help them continue their legacy of building healthy communities."

YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka co-ordinator of events and digital campaigns Taya McLellan accepted the cheque at the Rotary Club of Innisfil's weekly meeting on June 8.

"It's been wonderful to connect with our members and supporters in person again; we really missed the magic of seeing everyone's smiling faces," McLellan said. "We understand some participants may not be comfortable coming into centres, which is why we developed the Activity Passport that can be completed anywhere. Our YMCA locations are offering a variety of programs this week that align with the Passport to encourage community, moving and giving."

The Rotary Club of Innisfil meets every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. For more information, email rotaryinnisfil@gmail.com.
