BEST OF SUMMER: PLAYGROUNDS TO CHECK OUT IN SIMCOE COUNTY

ORILLIA

Walter Henry Park features an adventure playground with a tree fort and oversized tube slide, zip lines, an oversized concrete salamander designed as a climbable play feature and more.

Location: 3050 Orion Blvd., Orillia.

COLLINGWOOD

J.J. Cooper Park: The park, located adjacent to the Black Ash Creek trail corridor, is comprised of six amenity spaces and is Collingwood's first natural playground. A circular swing and net climber, highlight this playground, which also includes a playhouse and a toboggan hill.

Location: Chamberlain Crescent, Collingwood

BARRIE

Centennial Park: Located

at Centennial Beach, the park features two play structures, one with two slides and a second that's made to look like a pirate ship.

Location: 65 Lakeshore Dr., Barrie

BRADFORD

Henderson Memorial Park has a play apparatus that includes two slides and a tree to climb. The park is adjacent to a splash pad and a tennis court.

INNISFIL

Dempster Park: Renovated in 2018, the playground includes a climbing house with slides, as well as a second play apparatus.

A major feature is a handmade cement rock wall with animals hiding throughout.

MIDLAND

Little Lake Park: A facelift this summer will see new swings installed as well as a climbing structure with multiple slides and a zip line.

Treetops Park is an adventure playground replicating a forest. Two different swing sets highlight this playground, which is located next to a splash pad.

PENETANGUISHENE

McGuire Park features a massive play structure with multiple slides and climbing ropes, as well as swings for youngsters.

BARRIE

Lennox Park: The inclusive Lennox Community Park playground features

accessible, engineered wood fibre safety surfacing and a new separate swing area.

ALLISTON

Riverdale Park is a fullyaccessible park with a surface spinner, an oversized saucer swing and a sensory activity throughout the playground.
