COUNTY LAUNCHES PARAMEDIC FOR A DAY CONTEST

THE DEADLINE TO ENTER IS MAY 17 AT 8 P.M.

Is your child interested in paramedic services and emergency response? County of Simcoe Paramedic Services is hosting its virtual Paramedic for a Day contest, which is open to Simcoe County students in grades 5 to 6.

The contest marks Paramedic Services week in May.

To participate, students create a short (maximum two minutes) video demonstrating "what to do when the first responder is you." The winner will be chosen based on their video entry, the county said.

The deadline to enter is May 17 at 8 p.m. The winning entry will be announced at County of Simcoe council on May 24.

The winning student will receive a visit to their home from a paramedic crew, along with an ambulance

tour. The crew will present the winner with a first-aid kit and take part in a photo opportunity.

To enter, transfer video files to paramedic4aday@simcoe.ca using the free WeTransfer platform at wetransfer.com. Be sure to include the student's name, name of parent/guardian, home phone number and which school the student attends.

Full contest details can be found at simcoe.ca/ paramedicforaday.
