SHANE MACDONALD shanemacdonald@ simcoe.com

CANDIDATE NAME: Bonnie North

RIDING: Barrie-Innisfil

PARTY: Green Party of Ontario

AGE: 62

OCCUPATION: Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner

RESIDENCE: Southwest Barrie

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Former Green Party of Ontario (GPO) deputy leader (serving two elected terms). Currently elected to the governance board of the GPO, representing the party's Central Region, 2014 GPO Candidate of Record, Barrie, 2015 and 2019 GPC Candidate of Record, Barrie-Innisfil, 2018 GPO Candidate of Record, Barrie-Innisfil, 2018 Barrie Municipal Candidate, Ward 7.

HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S COVID RESPONSE, AND WHY? Endless reasons explain the government's "F" grade, but here are a few: capping workers' paid sick days to three; capping nurses' salaries and suppressing their collective bargaining powers; implementing chaotic public closures and reopenings; failing to ensure safe conditions in schools; and worst of all, doing such a negligent job of protecting our seniors that thousands died needlessly in LTC facilities. Catastrophic failure means the army gets called in to do the government's job.

IF ELECTED, I PLEDGE: The Green Party of Ontario, as the only party which doesn't "whip" its members, allows me to reflect Barrie-Innisfil's needs ahead of my party's. I'll bring honesty, integrity and good public policy to create the caring and compassionate community we deserve. I'll deliver the Ontario we want, with the leadership we need.
