COAST PROGRAM RECEIVES GRANT FROM FOUNDATION
COAST PAIRS POLICE OFFICERS WITH CRISIS WORKERS
Innisfil Community Foundation is giving $20,000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to support the
South Simcoe Police Service's Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COAST).
The team is made up of a COAST police officer and a
CMHA crisis worker who respond to crisis calls in the community. Working together to de-escalate situations and provide critical
mental health support, the program helps people in crisis navigate support systems in the community.
The grant from Innisfil Community Foundation will put CMHA crisis staff on the road with a COAST
officer for an additional day every week, ensuring people in crisis receive assistance when they need it the most.
