HOUGH, Ann Margaret

Ann Margaret Hough passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the age of 81.

Beloved wife of Laurel Hough, whom she loved dearly and lost in 2015. Mother of Glenn Bartley and Jane Chevier, stepmother to Randy Hough and Lori McBride. Loving grandmother of Tyler, Aaron, Travis, Zachary, Alexis, Elizabeth, Symone and Nika. Great-grandmother of Cameron, Blake, Rylan and Wesley. Ann was born with a spirit for adventure, travelling throughout Europe as a teenager, and even seeing the Beatles live in a little bar before they were "The Beatles". At 19, and without the benefit of Google, she hopped onto an ocean steamer and set sail for Canada, landing in Montreal in 1964. From there she built an amazing life in her new home, Canada.

Ann was an

bowler,

winning so many trophies she retired from bowling to let others have a chance. She loved to garden, and her and Laurel's home always had beautiful flowers in front. Ann had a passion for arts and crafts. Her home was full of examples of her talent that were displayed with pride. She was an active volunteer at the Pines, serving on the Pines Support Committee.

Ann loved lawn bowling and pickleball. She could be found at the pool every week at her aquafit classes with her swim buddies. Those moments always brought a smile to her face. However, Ann's true passion was always travelling and shortly after her 81st birthday she checked another trip off of her bucket list; a two week river cruise through Europe.

With Ann's wishes in mind, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in Bracebridge in the summer of 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pines Long Term Care Home. Donations can be made over the phone by calling 1-705645-4488 or by mailing a cheque to;
