HOSPITAL FOUNDATION RECEIVES $1K DONATION

The South Muskoka Hospital Foundation was recently given a $1,000 donation from the Muskoka Pioneer Power Association to support new equipment at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.

The Muskoka Pioneer Power Association has been operating as a not-forprofit organization in Bracebridge for over 35 years. Its membership of approximately 200 is passionate about preserving and restoring antique farm and forest equipment. They are also passionate about local health care.

"Funds are raised from our participation at the Bracebridge Fall Fair and our annual three-day Muskoka Pioneer Power Show at J.D. Lang Activity Park," said secretary/treasurer Diane Kennedy. "The show features heritage display rooms, demonstrations, antique tractor pulls, classic and antique vehicles, engine displays, a grand parade and more."

Club president Frank Duck and Kennedy presented the hospital foundation's executive director Leah Walker with a $1,000 cheque from the proceeds.

"We are so grateful for the support from this group," said Walker. "Antique farm equipment is one thing; antique hospital equipment is another. We rely on our community to ensure we have the most up-to-date tools and technology to care for our patients and Muskoka Pioneer Power Association is a long-standing partner."
