DUNNVILLE HOUSE FIRE
There was no loss of life, but a Dunnville home was completely razed in a fire.
On May 7 just before 4:15 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the OPP responded to a structure fire on Highway 3, along with Haldimand County fire services and Haldimand County emergency services.
"The residence was occupied by one person at the time of the fire, but they were able to exit the building," Const. Mary Gagliardi wrote in a news release. "One family member who was not inside the residence attempted to rescue the family pets, but suffered from smoke inhalation and was transported to a local hospital for assessment. All animals were accounted for and safely reunited with their owners."
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshalwas notified about the blaze, but did not attend the scene.
"The cause of the fire remains under investigation; however, it is not deemed to be
suspicious," Gagliardi said.
