HAPPENING AT HILLSVIEW ACTON

JULIE CONROY Column Julie Conroy is the media relations director for Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre-acton. She can be reached at hillsviewacton@gmail.com.

Great news, bingo lovers! Our Saturday bingo will now be open to the public with larger prize money to be won. The next bingo will be on Saturday, Apr. 15 at 2 p.m.

The Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre-acton is adjoining the Acton Arena on Queen Street.

Even the threat of major snow didn't dampen our spirits while we enjoyed dinner, a glass of wine and talented Acton guests, both young and 'mature' performing at the Talent Night.

We missed the dancers and singers, but hope to see them return next year.

We have some fantastic items that have been donated by generous local businesses and our members for the upcoming Silent Auction and Arts & Crafts Sale, which will be held on Saturday, Mar. 25. Bidding closes at 2 p.m.

Our own art group meets every Wednesday at 1 p.m. Bring your artwork to work on in a group setting. They offer great support to fellow artists. Still feeling crafty? Papertole is every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. This is an instructed program.

Whether it's crafts, exercising your body or brain, there is always something here for you. Pick up the latest edition of Hillsview, which covers Acton and Georgetown. Your $35 membership covers both centres. We currently have over 285 members in Acton.

Our Annual General Meeting is on Tuesday, Mar. 28 at 1:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend, you can get a proxy vote form at the reception desk.
