A 37-year-old Milton man is facing a rash of criminal charges following an incident that brought Halton Regional Police tactical officers and police dogs to Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills.

The incident unfolded just after 2:30 p.m. May 8, when Halton police responded to an address in the area of Robinson Road and Bowman Street in Georgetown for a report of a man who had broken into a residential garage.

A man fled the scene in a white Ford F150 after being confronted by the homeowner, police said.

Officers attended the area and located the vehicle; however, the driver failed to stop for police and drove off in a "dangerous manner," police allege.

The vehicle was then driven to the Toronto Prime Outlets mall and struck five vehicles before the driver abandoned the truck and fled on foot, according to police.

A man was arrested

nearby after being found by heavily-armed tactical officers and police dogs.

The truck being driven by the suspect had been reported stolen from Toronto, police said, adding there were no civilian injuries.

The man is charged with breaking and entering, dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a crash, possession of property obtained by crime, assault with intent to resist arrest, obstructing

a peace officer, failing to comply with a probation order and five counts of operating a vehicle while prohibited.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
