ENCORE HELPS PORT COLBORNE WOMAN BRING HOME $100,000

That one dollar paid off for Melissa Hearns.

Hearns, of Port Colborne, won a total of $100,000 by matching the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the May 23 Daily Grand draw.

The 44-year-old, who works in finance, said she stopped at the store to check her tickets on the way home from work one day.

"I saw the big winner screen appear with all the zeroes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was so nervous passing the ticket to the clerk, I was shaking," she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

She plans to pay some bills, share her winnings with her parents, and complete some home renovations. "I'm also going to put some aside to travel next year," she said.

"I'm very excited for the possibilities — I've been dreaming of a win for years," Hearns smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7Eleven on Clarence Street.
