Local painters, sculptures, potters and other artists in Flamborough and beyond are welcoming visitors to drop in and see their own colourful and creative gifts during the Fine Arts Society of Milton (FASM) Studio Tour from Oct. 1 to 2.

Flamborough artist Bill Brehm said there are 19 different locations and 41 artists taking part in the tour, which will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

"We are excited about the upcoming studio tour and will host five other artists at our location," he said. "They are all fine artists, friends, and nice people who look forward to sharing their love of creative art with the public, especially our Flamborough neighbours.

"It should also be a great weekend for a fall colour tour."

The tour will feature studios in Milton, Kilbride, Hamilton and Halton Hills, as well as four Flamborough stops, featuring 18 local artists. The Flamborough locations include:

• Studio 16: 1617 Milburough Line with artists Lois Freese, Margaret Jones, Joel Troster, Jean Rivers, Sharon Crosby, Bill Brehm and Marnie Brehm.

• Studio 17: 1913 Centre Rd., Carlisle, with artists CherylAnn Hills and Donalou Langdon.

• Studio 18: 2 Palomino Dr., Carlisle, with artists Monika Schaefer, Linda Ross Gallagher, Annick Bourdon and Angie Trkulja.

Brehm said that for the most part, the art available to the public is new — although there may be a piece or two that came from the recent past.

"The artists are all (really) excited and working hard to produce

art that they hope they will sell," Brehm said, adding one artist, Linda Ross Gallagher, committed to creating a new painting a day over the month of September.

"Her work is just marvellous," he said, noting the artist did so to

challenge herself. "To do a painting a day, that takes some dedication and I'm actually looking forward to sneaking away and checking her stuff out, if I get a chance to."

Brehm said the most important part of the tour is to participate

with friends and fellow artists, as well as making new friends and bringing some fun to the community.
