HOW WILL WARD 15 PUBLIC SCHOOL TRUSTEE CANDIDATES CHAMPION DIVERSITY?
sive coverage of the municipal election, the Review invited each of the Ward 15 trustee candidates to weigh in on a particular issue. Their responses are featured in alphabetical order.
QUESTION: IF ELECTED, HOW WILL YOU EMBRACE AND CHAMPION DIVERSITY IN YOUR ROLE AS PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE FOR WARD 15? CATHERINE KRONAS
Inclusive schools emphasize the things that unite us. I would advocate for schools that uphold freedom of speech, expression and belief; policies that ensure tolerance and respect, and educational excellence through a merit-based system that rewards hard work. K-12 classrooms are not places for divisive identity politics.
GRAEME NOBLE Hamilton-Wentworth
District School Board (HWDSB) students are as diverse and multidimensional as the communities and cultures they represent. As trustee, I will work to forge bonds between local community organizations and public schools to welcome conversations among students and parents to educate, celebrate, and share: to appreciate our differences and unite in our similarities.
Candidate Syed Banoori did not respond to the Review's requests for information.
