Art Song in the Spring! Saturday, March 25, 2 to 4 p.m. at Montgomery's Inn, 4709 Dundas St. W. Canadian soprano Allison Cecilia Arends presents an inspiring matinée filled with many beloved operatic and vocal favourites, concert starts at 3 p.m.

CELEBRATE TORONTO

DiverCity - Exploring Toronto's Culture and Landscapes through to April 5 at Etobicoke Civic Centre, 399 The West Mall,

Ascent Gallery, the Centre Block hallway on Level 1. With a unique blend of the city nightlife, urban scenery and historic landscapes, this exhibition features an eclectic mix of works and mediums by Toronto-based artists Summer Leigh, PH1 Collective, Cristian Arango, Jeff Turner and Jane Pike, Taku Kumabe, Selina Yung and Jodi Lascar. Presented as part of the Celebrate Toronto festival which ran March 6 to 18 at various venues.

HERSTORY

Herstory through to March 29 at Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Dr., Etobicoke. Embark on a journey through life with works by six artists who have woven personal stories and struggles into their art. This exhibition is presented by Supporting Women, Femme and Trans (SWFT) Niagara Women's Collective.

JURIED ART SHOW

Humber Valley Art Club Annual Members' Juried ShowMarch 28 to April 27 at Etobicoke

Civic Centre Art Gallery, 399 The West Mall. Opening Reception is April 2, 2 to 4 p.m. The Humber Valley Art Club has provided visual artists with opportunities to share ideas and expand their skills since 1951. This juried exhibition showcases the finest drawings and paintings by the club's members.

WRAPPING UP

In Celebration: Franklin Carmichael Art Group Annual Juried Show wraps up Friday, March 24 at Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery, 399 The West Mall. See eclectic works by the Franklin Carmichael Art Group, who have worked diligently throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This annual show presents new works in oil, acrylic and watercolour.

APRIL 1 CONCERT

Etobicoke Centennial Choir will take the audience on a musical stroll "On the Sunny Side of the Street" Saturday, April 1, 7:30 p.m. The choir will be performing at a new venue for this concert Runnymede United Church at 432

Runnymede Rd. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased on the choir's website etobicokecentennialchoir.ca; by e-transfer to treasurer@etobicokecentennialchoir.ca or by calling 416-779-2258. Admission is free for accompanied children 12 and under.

BOOK CLUB

By the Lake Book Club, presented by City of Toronto, Humber College and Toronto International Festival of Authors, offers an inspiring season of in-person and virtual literary Tuesdaynight events, continuing with Saeed Teebi (April 18), Cody Caetano (Sept. 12), Sarah Polley (Oct. 17) and Alissa York (Dec. 5) at Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive. Each in-person event includes a reading, discussion, audience Q&A and booksigning. Advance tickets required.
