NO DAYTIME BURNING ALLOWED IN ERIN

With fires burning in northern Ontario and other parts of the country, municipalities are keeping a close eye on their own fire conditions. In Erin, the risk is currently set at "moderate."

That means there is no daytime burning allowed.

Fires shall only be set two hours before sunset and must be totally extinguished two hours after sunrise.

The fires must be under constant supervision and control from time of lighting until it is totally extinguished.

With forest fuels drying, there is an increased risk of surface fires starting. On the town's website, residents are urged to carry out any forest activities with caution.

Valid burn permits must be obtained from the Town of Erin, available through its website at Erin.ca.
