'EVERYONE GETS WHAT THEY WANT' UNDER ONE ROOF AT FEEDERY

MELISSA WALLACE melissawallace@yrmg.com

You're with your posse having fun when someone halts the conversation with, "So, what should we eat?"

Someone is craving burgers. Another is on a health kick. There's bickering and the co-ordinating of delivery times and bills from different restaurants.

Feedery launched in January 2022 to solve this scenario. With multiple chef-inspired food brands under one roof in Aurora, customers can pick what they want, when they want it and pay on one bill.

The unique concept is the brainchild of partners Jamie Meireles, Guillermo Russo, and Michael Wong. The trio have more than 75 years combined of experience in the food industry.

Of note, Meireles worked at a Michelinstarred restaurant and worked with Russo at Oliver and Bonacini. Russo also worked with Chef Gordon Ramsay; and Wong helped Bento Sushi grow to more than 700 locations across North America.

"We're all serious industry professionals who are passionate about what we do and the first conversation started about two weeks into the pandemic," said Meireles.

Since people couldn't go anywhere and were ordering takeout, the concept of a one-stop shop to simplify ordering meals came to fruition. They chose Aurora to reach a niche market, as many chefs tend to stay in big cities.

Original Feedery brands include Chomp Shop (fried chicken) which "will stay crispy in the

fridge for three days," Smash Patties (smash burgers), Soul Bowl (nutritious salads) and Onokai (poke fusion bowls).

Side items, sweets, and retail items include Gaucho Pie Co. (empanadas), La Croqueteria (classic Spanish croquetas), Sullivan and Bleeker (cookies and brownies), and Coppa

Gelato and Sorbet.

"It's the whole concept of 'everyone gets what they want' and everything's made in house," said Meireles.

The partners pride themselves on using topquality ingredients, despite the many suppliers and different cuisines.

Feedery also acts as a brand incubator, offering pop-ups for up-and-coming brands that are looking for opportunities to test out their recipes.

"It's fun and exciting to see entrepreneurs experience joy when their passion comes to life and we help them with marketing and ideas on how to be profitable," said Meireles.

"It also keeps Feedery fresh and vibrant because people want to have that first taste and check us out to see what's next."
