Town of The Blule Mountains Drainage Master Plan Noce of Public Informaon Centre 2

The Corporaon of the Town of The Blue Mountains is undertaking a Drainage Master Plan under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Master Planning Process to idenfy exisng drainage deficiencies and develop drainage soluons to address the deficiencies, reduce flooding, resolve public safety concerns, and improve maintenance opportunies within the seblement areas of the Town. A Public Informaon Centre (PIC) was previously hosted in February 2022 to review the idenfied drainage deficiencies and elicit input from the public regarding addional observed deficiencies and public preference regarding potenal alternave soluons. A second Public Informaon Center is planned to advise you of the preliminary preferred alternave soluons developed to address drainage deficiencies idenfied throughout the study area.

The Study area encompasses the whole Town with the primary focus being the seblement areas including Lora Bay, Thornbury and Clarksburg, Craigleith and Camperdown, and the Blue Mountains Village area. The exisng drainage infrastructure in the study area consists of a combinaon of open channels, ditches, watercourses, culverts, storm sewers, overland flow routes, stormwater management facilies, and low impact development measures.

The Drainage Master Plan is being completed in accordance with Approach #2 of the Master Planning Process outlined in the Municipal Engineers Associaon Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000, amended in 2007, 2011, and 2015). The Town has retained the consulng firm Tatham Engineering Limited to complete this Drainage Master Plan.

The Town hereby nofies all interested individuals and pares that Public Informaon Centre 2 will be held virtually and in-person. The PIC2 pre-recorded presentaon will be posted to the project website (www.thebluemountains.ca/masterdrainageplanea) on March 6, 2023. Following posng of the Virtual PIC, Town staff and representaves from Tatham Engineering will be hosng a Virtual Public Meeng Queson and Answer Session on March 29, 2023, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. and an in-person Open House Queson and Answer Session on March 30, 2023, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.

Anyone interested in parcipang in the Virtual Public Meeng Queson and Answer Session must register in advance of the session on the project website (www.thebluemountains.ca/masterdrainageplanea).

Comment sheets will be provided to allow members of the public to provide feedback on their preferences regarding the improvement opons being considered and provide overall comments regarding sasfacon with the PIC. Comments collected through this process will be used to help determine the Preferred Alternave Drainage Soluons recommended for implementaon.
