ARREST MADE AFTER NEWCASTLE MAN DIES IN TORONTO STABBING

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a Newcastle man last week in Toronto, according to police.

Officers responding to a report of an altercation involving a group of people in the area of Jane Street and Finch Avenue West around 10:15 p.m. Sept. 20 found two victims, Toronto police said. A 24-yearold Newcastle man was pronounced dead at the scene while a 25-year-old victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased man was not released.

Police said Haroon Imran, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
